Starkmacher Impact GmbH (SMI) from Germany is a social impact consulting firm focussing on the development, implementation and consulting of projects that achieve sustainable and social impact. The company was founded to promote positive change in social, environmental and economic areas, particularly in the Global South. SMI offers a wide range of services, including project development and management, social entrepreneurship, fundraising strategies, ESG impact measurement and coaching for social projects.

The Starkmacher Impact Giving Fund is part of the Sinngeber Giving Fund. Sinngeber gGmbH is a subsidiary of the Hoffnungsträger Foundation. It is committed to social change across organisational boundaries. The Giving Fund is managed as an endowment fund within the Hoffnungsträger Stiftung.

Starkmacher Impact GmbH works closely with Starkmacher Impact organisations in the Global South. This makes it possible to organise project management on site more efficiently and secure the flow of funds. 

Subsidiaries of this type exist in Brazil for Latin America, Kenya for Africa and the Philippines for Asia. Subsidiaries are being set up in El Salvador for Central America and in Lebanon for the Middle East and the MENA region. 

Cooperation takes place on several levels: 

1. Local implementation of projects: The associations in the Global South are active directly on the ground and implement the projects developed and planned by Starkmacher Impact GmbH. This ensures a high degree of local customisation and effectiveness of the measures.

2. Resources and expertise: Starkmacher Impact GmbH provides the local associations with resources and expertise. This includes financial resources, technical know-how and strategic support to successfully implement the projects and achieve sustainable results.

3. Network and partnerships: Through its global networks and partnerships, Starkmacher Impact GmbH is able to mobilise additional support and cooperation for the projects in the Global South. This includes cooperation with other NGOs, companies and government organisations. 

4. Monitoring and evaluation: Starkmacher Impact GmbH is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating the projects to ensure that the goals set are achieved and to make continuous improvements. These evaluations are carried out in close cooperation with the local organisations. 

5. Capacity building: Another important aspect of the cooperation is capacity building. Starkmacher Impact GmbH supports the local organisations through training courses and workshops to strengthen their skills in areas such as project management, fundraising and impact measurement.

This close cooperation enables Starkmacher Impact GmbH and the organisations in the Global South to effectively and sustainably implement social and environmental projects that have a positive impact on local communities.

Sinngeber GmbH manages the donated capital for us together with the Hoffnungsträger Stiftung's own assets as part of its in-house asset management. The Hoffnungsträger Stiftung works with a team with many years of experience that combines expertise in philanthropy, NGO insights and asset management. This digital approach gives us maximum transparency for the Starkmacher Impact Giving Fund at all times.

Our experience shows that donated money unfortunately often does too little to strengthen personal responsibility. On our travels in the Global South, we have often seen that donation-funded projects do not achieve their goals in the long term. Our model is different: your donation is used sustainably and effectively, with our local project organisers taking full responsibility and commitment for implementation. Thanks to our active project management, the funding initially paid is repaid after a mutually agreed term and thus flows into further local socio-ecological projects. We call this a revolving fund. This means that your donation is used in a targeted, sustainable and meaningful way. In addition, we make the repayment interest-free and ensure that the repayment amounts during the repayment period are lower than the charges before the start of the project.

We use the professional donation management of Sinngeber gGmbH with maximum transparency, guaranteed use of the donations and extremely low administration costs of only 0.5% of the donations, so that 99.5% of your contribution flows directly into the Starkmacher Impact projects at our Starkmacher Impact organisations in the Global South. 10% of the project costs are incurred for local support and project management by Starkmacher Impact GmbH.

Once you have made your donation, you will receive a donation receipt immediately. This is an automated process. Please note that we do not automatically send a donation receipt for donations under €300. Should you nevertheless require a donation receipt, we will be happy to issue one on request. (For donations of less than €300, a cash deposit slip or booking confirmation from a bank is sufficient as part of the simplified proof of donation in accordance with §50 Para. 4 No. 2 EStDV).
